Japanese Obon Festival Holiday Advisory 2024
Greetings, everyone. This is May from the A-PACHINKO WORLD support team. I am currently one of the newest members of the team. I may not have introduced myself to the blog yet. Because I had to get right to work, I suppose we'll have to postpone our getting-to-know-you time next time. This blog is about our holiday advisory for the Obon Festival in 2024.
The Japanese Obon festival is a traditional event that honors the spirits of ancestors. Celebrated annually, it typically occurs in mid-August, although some regions observe it in July. The festival involves various customs, including the lighting of lanterns to guide spirits home, visiting graves, and performing traditional dances known as Bon Odori. Families gather to pay respects, share meals, and participate in community activities. Obon serves as a time for reflection, gratitude, and connection with loved ones, both living and deceased, emphasizing the importance of family and cultural heritage in Japanese society.
As most of our employees are Japanese, we would like to inform you that the A-PACHINKO WORLD store will be closed for the summer from August 10th to August 16th to commemorate the Japanese Obon holiday. Some services may halt during this time. We hope for your understanding.
Thank you, and we hope for your continuous support!
